Lots of fish and lots of pegs – spread over 6 waters

Longford Fishery has been a fishing venue for around 10 years, over that time the site has been developed and now offers a choice of 6 lakes. The fishery is stocked with a mixture of carp and silverfish and offers great sport to pleasure and match anglers.

The Big Lake – The specimen lake which is pleasure fishing only – contains over 40 pegs
Canal Pool – Connected to the Big Lake and offers around 30 pegs
Pools Head – a smaller lake which is also connected to the Big Lake – 12 pegs
Alder Carr – 15 pegs which is often used for matches
Lily Pool – 33 pegs which offer great match fishing
Carr Wood – 30 pegs which is often used for matches

The site features:

  • Great car parking – very close to the pegs
  • Cafe at weekends serving hot/cold food and drinks
  • Men’s and Women’s toilets

Rules and Restrictions

  • True barbless hooks only
  • All fish caught must be netted and returned using a landing net
  • No carp sacks
  • Unhooking mats must be used on the Big Lake, Canal and Pools Head
  • No fish to be taken from the fishery
  • All litter to be taken from the fishery
  • All anglers must be in possession of a licence
  • No swimming

Keepnet rules

  • Silver fish only on the big lake
  • No fish over 3lbs to be put in a keep net in a pleasure session
  • Separate nets for silver and carp
  • No more than 50lb in a net for no longer than 5 hours

Adults: £6, £4 per subsequent rod
OAP / Disabled: £5, £3 per subsequent rod
