Shardlow, Derbyshire
The River Derwent at Shardlow is a very special stretch of river. There are few places in the country that offer river fishing like this, if you like a spot of stick float fishing then you should really go and check it out.
The river also has a good head of barbel too – what more do you need?!
In the summer months check out the shallows above the pipe bridge. Find the snaggy pegs for some arm busting barbel action!
The stretch at Shardlow from Church Wilne / Great Wilne down to where the river meets the Trent is not fishable on a day ticket.
