A popular fishery just off the M25

Willows Lake is located just outside St Albans, Hertfordshire. The fishing lakes make up part of a 180 acre estate, which seems a million miles away from the M25 which runs close by.

The lake is around 22 acres in size and contains around 7000 carp – if you are into your carp fishing, this is a water you should enjoy. Size wise, they generally run between 3lb to 30lbs – in 48h sessions it’s possible to bank over 700lbs of fish. The lake has numerous features including silt spots and deep channels – which are worth checking out at different times of the year.

In total there are 3 big gravel pits on the site – Willows Lake is part of the Albans Lakes complex. Onsite there is a small tackle shop, a cafe and toilets.
