A popular area in Derby, not just for fishing

Allestree Lake is located in Allestree Park which is on the outskirts of Derby city centre. The park was purchased in 1947 by the local Council and since then it has been developed to provide a range of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy.

The park is home to a wide range of interesting animal and plant species. As you would expect, the park is quite popular, so if you are planning a fishing session it might be one where you get asked “have you caught anything?” on a fairly regular basis.
