Codnor Park Reservoir is a fairly large open water. The dam end is offers the deepest water, with the shallow end offering great sport in the warmer months. The fishery has been stocked several times over the past few years with bream, skimmers and tench.
A groundbait feeder is the approach that will generally work across most of the venue. It can be a bit of a waiting game for the fish to arrive. During the warmer months the pole can work well.
Open matches are held on the venue each Wednesday and Sunday – pleasure fishing is unaffected as there will be plenty of pegs still available. There are lots of anglers who tell horror stories about sitting hours waiting for fish. There are some others who tell stories about times they had great days. It is a tricky venue.
Hot and cold food is available from the snack wagon, along with plenty of car parking space.
