The Angel of the North Carp and Coarse Fishing Lakes are located in the middle of a 64 acre farm near Gateshead in County Durham. It is a truly relaxing fishing spot, surrounded by the peaceful countryside.
There is a choice of three lakes at the venue:
Bassetts Pond – There are 14 pegs on this water, with 2 designed for improved disabled access. The water has a good head of carp and silver fish. If you fish with maggots on the pole, waggler or feeder you should catch fish all day. Bigger baits like pellets could pick off bigger sized fish.
Bowes Lake – A larger 40 peg water. There is a slightly larger head of carp in here, but there are still other silvers and tench to target. The lake runs to around 6ft in depth and there are 2 central islands which are good fish holding features.
Lookout Lake – A 44 peg lake which is available for match bookings. The stocking on here is carp and silvers. There are a selection of ghost, leather and koi carp in here, so you never know what will surface in front of your landing net. There are also golden tench, orfe and crucians in here – variety is the spice of life.
