The Belmont Estate features a range of different sized pools, all of which offer some fantastic carp fishing. The most well know water at the fishery is Belmont Pool – the carp in here top 30lbs, so in a water just under an acre in size you stand a pretty good chance in locating them! Belmont Pool is a fairly easy water to catch carp, you should have good sport all year round.
Serpentine Pool, which was previously named Beech Pool, features a lot of carp too. There are plenty of mid-doubles along with a growing number of twenties.
Willow Pool is more of a pleasure fishing water. Tench, roach, bream, perch and a good stocking of carp from a few pounds to low double figures provide excellent waggler and pole fishing, especially during the summer months.
Rowan Pool and Yew Tree Pool are often used as stock/holding ponds and contain a variety of species of all sizes including roach, bream, perch and carp. Oak Pool is due to be enlarged and currently contains carp to mid-doubles, roach and perch.
As a warning, the fishery does get quite busy – all year round. As a precaution it may be good to have a backup plan for somewhere else to go fishing if you cant get a peg! Check out some other venues in the North West.
