Furnace Lakes Fishery in Horsham, West Sussex is predominately regarded as a big fish specimen venue. If you want to bag a big carp or cat then head here. In total there is a choice of 6 lakes to pick from:
Roman Lake – an oval lake with a central island, with 14 pegs. The carp in here run into the late 40s and the catfish go to over 110lbs. There are lots of carp in the 20-30 bracket.
Furnace Lake – an 8 acre water which is stocked with carp into the 40s. There’s also a good head of different coarse species in here, so you could target them if the big carp aren’t your thing.
Kiln Lake – a mature and feature packed water which had a big head of carp in the 20-40lbs bracket.
Specimen Lake – the smallest water at Furnace Lakes, this is know as the easy water. There are lots of smaller sized doubles in here, so if you fancy an action packed day you could do much worse than opt for one of these 8 pegs.
Hyes Lake – a great lake for beginners and juniors. The carp run into the late 20s but there are lots of other species to target in here too
Plantation Lake – a specimen hunters dream. There are lots of bit carp and catfish in this 6 acre water, there are 20 pegs and 9 islands, which means there will be plenty of water to go at.
There are lots of facilities on site, in addition to the catering and bait shops there are several wooden lodges that contain toilets and shower facilities. Carpers will be happy, you can arrange for all of your gear to be driven round to your peg by the venues fleet of vehicles.
