Clumber Park Lake is one of those renowned waters that most fishermen in the country will have heard of. This is a very large 83 acre lake which holds some huge fish. As the size would suggest, these fish lurk in the depths, so a session on here could be quite hit and miss. Don’t let that put you off, Clumber Park will reward an angler who puts the effort in. If you can locate the fish and then get your approach right you could have the session of a lifetime on here.
The venue sees a lot of action from carp and pike anglers. The bait which goes provides ample support for the other coarse fish, if 40lb+ carp aren’t your thing, the double figure bream, 9lb tench or 4lb perch should tickle your fancy. Have a look on YouTube for the video of Nick Speed bagging on the massive slabby, dustbin lid bream – proper fishing!
If you feel a bit daunted by fishing on such a large water, there are a few other options near by; Little John Lakes, Wellow Dam and Springvale are not too far away.
